The Process
The
artist creates each edition on the computer. After a proofing process,
and inspection, the artist pulls an artist's proof, to make sure the
image is exact. The edition is then run, and each print is carefully
inspected. The digital file is destroyed after the edition is completely
run, to ensure that one edition of a limited number of original signed
prints exist.
Michael St. Amand's electronic digital work has been seen on AOL, MSN,
PrixArs Electronica and the RT Mark installation at the Whitney Museum
of American Art Biennial in 2000. [St. Amand's digital
prints are printed on archival paper with archival inks.]
